The Sisters of Our Lady of Apostles (OLA) and the Society of African Missions (SMA) are proud to announce the launch of their podcast series, “Missionary Voices: Witnessing Climate Impact in Africa,” to mark the Season of Creation.

This collaboration showcases the powerful narratives of missionary sisters and brothers who live and work in Africa and are witness to on the frontlines of climate impact. With their wealth of experience and first-hand insights, these missionaries are shedding light on the often unexpected and startling consequences of climate change in their communities.

The inaugural episode, one of five, features Sr. Cynthia Nwadike OLA, a dedicated missionary based in Botswana. Sr. Cynthia’s first-hand account of the environmental and social challenges facing Botswana and the communities she serves opens our eyes to the realities with her candid and eye-opening perspective.

John McGeady, former Justice Officer for the Sisters of Our Lady of Apostles, and Gerry Forde, Justice Officer for the Society of African Missions speak with Sr Cynthia and together, they provide a comprehensive view of the climate change landscape in Botswana and highlight the urgent need for collective action.

This first series of the podcast, aims to promote awareness and inspire action in the face of climate change’s profound impacts on Africa. Through engaging discussions and personal stories, it invites listeners to join the mission for environmental justice, peace, and the integrity of creation.
