In our final real, we look at the pressing concerns surrounding children in Direct Provision, spotlighting the need for change. From our joint submission to the committee, we outlined issues and recommendations. Chief among our concerns is the prolonged stay of many children, deemed unacceptably lengthy. 💔 We express unease about insufficient attention and a growing apprehension about the government's commitment to end Direct Provision by 2024. #EndDirectProvision #ChildRights #AdvocacyForChange #16days
As we step into the sacred space of the first week of Advent, our hearts are attuned to the quiet anticipation that heralds the coming light. In this season of expectation, we offer our prayer, seeking the grace to prepare our hearts and minds for the arrival of Christ.
BE! Trust....
Today, the Church launches a new liturgical year, with the season of Advent – four weeks of preparation for the celebration of a birth that changed the course of human history. The Advent season is designed to help us appreciate more fully the significance of Christ’s first coming among us, and to make more room for him in our hearts now, as we await his second coming. This is beautifully expressed in the following Advent prayer ‘Increase our longing for Christ our Saviour and give us the strength to grow in love, that the dawn of his coming may find us rejoicing in his presence and welcoming the light of his truth.’ Advent is a time to be reborn, to wake up from our slumber, and embrace the dawn of a new day.
