Rose McCormack (1882-1967), from Carlanstown, Finea, Co. Westmeath, after 61 years in Nigeria, wrote a long and detailed Memoir. Sr Berardin’s Memoirs tell the story of the early days of OLA mission, and of the beginning of the Church, especially in Nigeria. These have now been published by the OLA Sisters Irish Province.
The book, entitled ‘Looking Back’, provides us with many insights into the extraordinary courage, generosity, endurance, and faith of one of the many Irish women who have made a huge contribution and left an indelible mark on the world. It is a very interesting account of heroic faith and love in action. Her testimony can inspire all of us to live the missionary call of our baptism in these contemporary times.
The book will be officially launched online on the 9th November 2023 at 7PM.
