On Saturday 27 June, families and friends gathered at Ardfoyle for our Remembrance Day and Blessing of the Graves, a service we hold every two years to remember our OLA Sisters who have gone before us.
Since we last gathered in this way, four Sisters have died: Sr Mary Barron, Sr Katherine Donovan, Sr Clare Fitzgerald, and Sr Columbiere O’Driscoll. Their names were spoken aloud on Saturday, taking their place in a remembrance that reaches back further still, to every OLA Sister who has lived and died in this mission since 1876.
We are grateful to everyone who travelled to be with us, and to those who continue to hold our Sisters in memory in the years between.
