On the eve of the Feast of St Brigid, Ardfoyle came alive with our annual neighbourhood celebration. Embracing Irish traditions, the children brought the rushes into the hall to craft St. Brigid’s crosses. We sang the hymn dedicated to St Brigid, spoke the blessing in her honour, and heard the stories of this mighty woman. Laughter and celebration echoed through Ardfoyle as we came together to make our crosses.
May Brigid bless the house wherein you dwell
Bless every fireside every wall and door
Bless every heart that beats beneath its roof
Bless every hand that toils to bring it joy
Bless every foot that walks its portals through
May Brigid bless the house that shelters you.
