It’s been weeks of prayer and anticipation for all of us at Our Lady of Apostles as our General Chapter takes place in Rome.
We were delighted to receive the news this morning that Sr Mary T Barron from the Dromahane Community has been elected as our Superior General.
Mary is from Manorcunningham, a small, rural village in Letterkenny, Co Donegal. She grew up in a typical Irish Catholic family and attributes her faith to her parents.
Mary has a passion for God and for the people of Africa. Her Masters degree in Development Studies, her extensive work the area of development in Africa and the Irish Missionary Union, as well as her work on the Provincial Leadership team, make her the perfect choice for Superior General.
We hope to interview Mary in the next few weeks and ask her all about her coming plans. We’re sure you join us in wishing Mary every blessing for her new role, and assure her of our continued prayer and support.
