Our Justice Desk recently collaborated with the Presentations Sisters’ Justice Office in Ireland and Edmund Rice International to make a civil society submission to the Universal Periodic Review of Ireland which takes place November 2021.

“To mark United Nations World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, Susanne Rogers of Social Justice Ireland chats to Donal Leader – Advocacy Officer at Christian Brothers European Province, John McGeady – Justice Officer for the Sisters of Our Lady of Apostles – Irish Province and Brian O’Toole – Director of the Interprovincial Justice Desk for the Presentation Sisters about how they came together to create a civil society submission to the Universal Periodic Review, looking at Ireland’s Human Rights obligations and responses to human trafficking measures, domestic and gender based violence and migrants, refugees and asylum seekers.”

You are invited to watch the overview of the Universal Periodic Review process of the UN Human Rights Council and our joint submission. We have presented and explained the joint submission to the UPR of Ireland to which many of you added your signatures of support. In this presentation we have further explained the UPR process which is the context for our submission.
